나는 작은 산 마을에서 자랐다. 그 마을의 가장 큰 특징은 매년 봄마다 강한 바람이 부는 것이다. 그 바람은 때때로 마을 사람들의 생활에 영향을 미쳤다.
마을 바로 옆에는 작은 나무 한 그루가 있었다. 다른 나무보다 훨씬 작고 약해 보였지만, 강한 바람이 불 때마다 이 나무는 앞으로 꺾이지 않고 꼭 꿋꿋하게 버텼다.
