저는 오늘 시장에 갔어요. 시장은 사람들이 많고 시끄러웠어요.

나는 사과를 사려고 했어요. 그런데 사과 가게가 너무 많아서 어디서 사야 할지 몰랐어요. 나는 조금 혼란스러웠어요.

한 가게 주인이 나를 불렀어요. "사과는 여기서 사세요! 아주 싱싱해요!" 그는 웃었어요. 나는 그 말을 믿고 사과를 샀어요.

집에 가서 사과를 보니 몇 개가 상했어요. 나는 속상했어요. "왜 상한 사과를 팔았지?" 나는 생각했어요.

그래도 나는 다시 시장에 갈 거예요. 이번에는 천천히 보고, 필요한 것을 잘 선택할 거예요. 시장은 복잡하지만 재미있는 곳이에요.

This pattern means 'was going to' or 'planned to.' Add -려고 했어요 to a verb stem to talk about an intention before the action happened. Example: 저는 사과를 사려고 했어요. = I was going to buy apples.
