grammar

X지만 Y

Use X지만 Y to show contrast, like 'X, but Y.' It connects two ideas when both are true, but the second idea is different or surprising. You can reuse it with adjectives and short clauses. Example: 비싸지만 좋은 과일을 샀어요. This means 'I bought fruit that was expensive but good.' You will see this pattern often in simple Korean.

  • 비싸지만 좋은 과일을 샀어요.

I bought fruit that was expensive but good.
