나는 오늘 할머니의 생일 파티에 갔어요.
많은 가족들이 모였고, 우리는 모두 이야기하며 웃었어요. 할머니는 행복해 보여서 나도 기뻤어요.

Notice the language
Use —고 to link two actions or events in one sentence. It often means "and" or "and then." In the story, "깜짝 놀랐고 모두가 웃었어요" links two events. You can reuse it like this: "친구를 만나고 같이 케이크를 먹었어요."
