바다는 항상 하늘색이에요. 오늘 저는 작은 배를 타고 바닷가에 갔어요.
배는 천천히 움직였어요. 바람이 시원해서 기분이 좋았어요. 근처에 작은 섬이 보였어요. 저는 그 섬에 가고 싶었어요.
섬에 도착하자, 해변은 조용했어요. 모래는 따뜻하고 부드러웠어요. 저는 모래 위에 앉아서 파도를 바라봤어요.

Notice the language
This pattern means "decided to do something." Form it with a verb stem + 기로 했어요. It is very useful for simple decisions in daily life. Example: "저는 섬에서 기다리기로 했어요." = "I decided to wait on the island." You can reuse it in sentences like "내일은 일찍 가기로 했어요." = "I decided to go early tomorrow."
