Η Έλενα είναι μια νεαρή γυναίκα από την Αθήνα. Πρώτη φορά αποφασίζει να ταξιδέψει μόνη της.
Τη μέρα της αναχώρησής της έχει πολύ άγχος. Δεν ξέρει καλά το δρόμο στο αεροδρόμιο και φοβάται μήπως χάσει την πτήση.
Φτάνει νωρίς και παρατηρεί τα πράγματα γύρω της. Οι άνθρωποι είναι πολλοί και όλοι βιαστικοί. Κάθεται κοντά στο παράθυρο και κοιτάζει τα αεροπλάνα.
Όταν έρχεται η ώρα για το ταξίδι, η Έλενα είναι ακόμα λίγο φοβισμένη. Το αεροπλάνο ανεβαίνει ψηλά στον ουρανό και αυτή βλέπει τα σύννεφα.
Το ταξίδι διαρκεί δύο ώρες. Η Έλενα δεν κοιμάται, αλλά παρακολουθεί το τοπίο κάτω από το αεροπλάνο και νιώθει περίεργα ευτυχισμένη.
Όταν φτάνει στην πόλη του προορισμού, όλα είναι νέα και διαφορετικά. Καταλαβαίνει ότι μπορεί να ταξιδέψει και μόνη της, και αυτό την κάνει να νιώθει δυνατή και περήφανη.

Notice the language
This pattern means "alone" or "by herself." It changes with gender and number: μόνη της (female), μόνος του (male), μόνοι τους (plural). You can reuse it with many verbs to say that someone does something without another person. Example: Η Έλενα ταξιδεύει μόνη της.
Η Έλενα ταξιδεύει μόνη της.
Elena travels by herself.
