grammar

volver a + infinitivo

Use volver a + infinitive to say that something happens again or starts again. This is very useful for daily-life stories and routines. Example: "El ascensor volvió a funcionar." = "The elevator started working again." In the story, this pattern appears in a clear, natural way and can be reused with many verbs, such as volver a llamar, volver a abrir, or volver a empezar.

  • El ascensor volvió a funcionar.

    The elevator started working again.
