어느 날 아침, 혜민은 집 근처 숲속에서 산책을 했어요.
숲은 아주 조용했고, 땅에는 하얀 안개가 살짝 내려 있었어요. 혜민은 안개 사이로 빛나는 작은 연못을 발견했어요. 연못 주변에는 예쁜 꽃들과 오래된 나무들이 있었어요.
혜민은 연못에 가까이 가서 물 위를 봤어요. 하지만 물이 너무 흐려서 바닥이 잘 보이지 않았어요. 이상한 점은 연못에 작은 물고기나 개구리가 없다는 것이었어요. 평소에는 이곳에 많은 동물들이 살았기 때문이에요.

Notice the language
This ending means "but" or "although" and connects two contrasting ideas. You can use it after verbs and adjectives when the first idea is true, but the second idea is different or unexpected. Example: "궁금했지만, 아무도 대답하지 않았어요." This pattern is very useful for simple contrasts in Korean.
