호숫가에 앉아 있던 나는 물에 비친 하늘을 바라보았다. 구름은 천천히 흘러가고, 바람은 거의 불지 않았다.
그 순간, 작은 물방울이 내 손등에 떨어졌다. 놀라 주위를 살피니, 저 멀리 호수 한가운데에서 물안개가 피어오르고 있었다. 물안개는 마치 어떤 신비로운 생명체처럼 부드럽게 움직였다.
나는 카메라를 꺼내 그 장면을 찍으려 했지만, 너무 짧은 순간에 물안개는 사라지고 말았다. 호수의 평화로운 모습은 다시 잔잔해졌고, 나는 무언가 특별한 것을 놓친 듯한 느낌이 들었다.
잠시 뒤, 새 한 마리가 물위에 내려앉아 조용히 주위를 둘러보았다. 그 새의 눈빛은 깊고 맑았다. 나는 그 모습을 오래도록 바라보며 자연이 담고 있는 다양한 표정을 머릿속에 담았다.
호숫가에서 보낸 이 조용한 시간은 일상의 소란함과는 다르게 나에게 무언가 말 없는 위안을 주었다. 무엇인가를 얻기 위해서가 아니라, 그저 '있음' 자체가 아름답다는 생각이 들었다. 나는 가끔 이렇게 멈춰 서서 자연과 함께 호흡할 필요가 있음을 깨달았다.
언젠가 다시 이곳에 와서 또 다른 비밀을 발견하기를 바란다. 그리고 그 순간을 온전히 느끼며 기록하고 싶다.
