Αντί να + υποτακτική
This construction means 'instead of doing X' or 'rather than do X' and is used to contrast an avoided action with the action that actually happens. It is followed by να + verb. Example: «Αντί να καλέσει βοήθεια, αποφάσισε να χρησιμοποιήσει τις γνώσεις του.» = 'Instead of calling for help, he decided to use his knowledge.'
