Στο σχολείο, η νέα τάξη του Θανάση ήταν πολύ διαφορετική από την παλιά. Όλοι οι μαθητές κάθονταν σε καινούρια θρανία και οι τοίχοι ήταν με ζωγραφιές. Η δασκάλα τους είπε ότι θα μάθουν καινούρια πράγματα με παιχνίδια.
Την πρώτη μέρα, ο Θανάσης ένιωσε λίγο περίεργα γιατί δεν ήξερε κανέναν καλά. Όμως, όταν ξεκίνησαν το μάθημα, η δασκάλα έπαιξε ένα παιχνίδι με λέξεις και όλοι μίλησαν μαζί.
Μετά, τους έδωσε ένα φύλλο εργασίας με ζωγραφιές που πρέπει να χρωματίσουν. Ο Θανάσης άρχισε να χρωματίζει αλλά μετά κατάλαβε ότι είχε μπερδέψει τα χρώματα. Αντί για κόκκινο, έβαλε μπλε στα μήλα και όλοι το πρόσεξαν.
Η δασκάλα γέλασε και είπε: «Δεν πειράζει, είναι ωραίο έτσι!». Ο Θανάσης ένιωσε καλύτερα και συνέχισε με χαμόγελο.
Η μέρα πέρασε γρηγορά και στο τέλος, ο Θανάσης κατάλαβε πως το σχολείο δεν είναι μόνο για μάθηση. Είναι και για να είσαι χαρούμενος και να μαθαίνεις μέσα από μικρά λάθη.
Έτσι, επέστρεψε σπίτι του γεμάτος νέες εικόνες και όμορφες αναμνήσεις.
