Heute hat Eva ihr neues Handy bekommen. Es ist klein und glänzend. Sie ist sehr glücklich.
Eva macht viele Fotos und schickt Nachrichten an ihre Freunde. Aber plötzlich funktioniert das Handy nicht mehr. Es ist aus, obwohl der Akku voll ist.
Eva versucht, es einzuschalten. Sie drückt viele Tasten, aber nichts passiert. Sie fühlt sich überrascht und weiß nicht, was sie tun soll.
Am nächsten Tag bringt Eva das Handy zum Laden. Der Mann im Geschäft schaut es an und sagt: "Manchmal brauchen Handys eine Pause. Lass es eine Stunde dort."

Zu Hause zeigt Eva ihren Eltern das funktionierende Handy. Sie sagt: "Technik ist toll, aber auch ein bisschen geheimnisvoll."

Notice the language
For devices, German often uses the short forms 'aus' and 'an'. 'Ist aus' means the device is off, and 'geht an' means it turns on or starts working. You can reuse this with phones, computers, and lights: 'Mein Handy ist aus, aber jetzt geht es an.'
