لم أكن أتوقع أن تنقلب رحلتي العادية بالقطار إلى مغامرة غريبة.
بدأ كل شيء عندما استقلت القطار من مدينتي إلى بلد بعيد لا أعرف عنه سوى القليل. في منتصف الطريق، شعر الجميع بارتجاج مفاجئ، وأضاءت أضواء الطوارئ.

Notice the language
This pattern is used to express surprise or low expectation about something that happened. It is formed with "لم أكن أتوقع أن" followed by a full clause. You can reuse it whenever the result is unexpected. Example: لم أكن أتوقع أن تتحول الرحلة إلى مغامرة غريبة. English: I did not expect the trip to turn into a strange adventure.
