في يوم من أيام المدرسة، دخلت سماع إلى ساحة اللعب بعد الحصة. كانت الساحة هادئة، ولا أحد يلعب كما في العادة.
جلست سماع تحت الشجرة لتأخذ قسطًا من الراحة. فجأة، سمعت صوت ضحك يأتي من بعيد. نظرت حولها ولم تجد أحدًا.
شعرت بسعادة غريبة، لكنها لم تفهم لماذا. حاولت سماع الصوت مرة أخرى، فسمعت همسات وكأن أحدهم يقرأ قصة.

Notice the language
This pattern means that something no longer happens. Use لم يعد for a masculine subject and لم تعد for a feminine subject, followed by a present-tense verb. It is useful for showing a change in habit, feeling, or situation. Example: لم تعد تشعر بالملل في الاستراحة. = She no longer feels bored during recess.
