A few things to know

Register

polite by default

Use Sie with hotel staff and other people you do not know. The phrases here use common polite forms such as Können Sie ...? and Ich möchte ..., which are the safest choices at reception.

grammar

The reservation phrase with a name

In hotel German, "auf den Namen [name]" is the standard way to say a booking is under a name. Staff may ask "Auf welchen Namen?" and you can answer with the surname alone or with the full phrase.

grammar

Check-in and check-out as one verb

The loan verbs "einchecken" and "auschecken" are written as one word in the infinitive, as in "Ich möchte einchecken." and "Ich möchte auschecken." In a normal sentence they split around the conjugated verb: "Ich checke ein." / "Ich checke aus."
