Sofía tiene diez años y vive con su mamá y su papá en un pequeño apartamento.
Un sábado por la mañana, Sofía ve una bicicleta roja en la ventana de una tienda. Quiere comprarla, pero sabe que no tiene dinero.
Su mamá le dice que si quiere, puede ayudar en casa para ganar un poco de dinero y comprar la bicicleta.
Sofía está muy contenta y empieza a limpiar su cuarto, ayudar a poner la mesa y cuidar a su hermanito.
Después de una semana, Sofía tiene suficiente dinero. Ella y su papá van a la tienda juntos para comprar la bicicleta.
Pero, en la tienda, la bicicleta ya no está. Sofía siente tristeza, pero el vendedor le muestra otra bicicleta azul que también le gusta.
Sofía piensa y decide comprar la bicicleta azul. Sale feliz de la tienda con su nuevo regalo.
De camino a casa, su mamá, papá y hermanito la siguen en sus bicicletas. Todos sonríen y disfrutan del paseo juntos.
Sofía aprende que con paciencia y esfuerzo puede conseguir lo que quiere, y que la familia puede estar junta en cada momento.

Notice the language
This pattern offers a choice or permission: "if she/he wants to, she/he can..." It is very useful for making polite offers. The story uses it here: "si quiere, puede ayudar en casa". Example: "Si quiere, puede venir mañana."
