في يوم من الأيام، قررت ليلى أن تذهب إلى الغابة مع صديقتها سامية.
كانت الغابة هادئة وجميلة، والأشجار كانت عالية والخضرة في كل مكان.
مشيت ليلى وسامية بين الأشجار، وشاهدتا الطيور تغني فوقهما.
شعرت ليلى بالراحة والسعادة في الطبيعة بعيداً عن المدينة وصوت السيارات.
بينما كانت تمشي، رأت سامية فأراً صغيراً وابتسمتا له بهدوء حتى لا يخاف.
بعد فترة، جلستا بالقرب من نهر يشع الماء فيه تحت أشعة الشمس.

Notice the language
Use بينما كانت + a verb to describe an action that was happening at the same time as another action in the past. It is very useful for storytelling and for background actions. Example: «بينما كانت تمشي، رأت سامية فأراً صغيراً.» This means she was walking when she saw the mouse.
بينما كانت تمشي، رأت سامية فأراً صغيراً.
While she was walking, Samia saw a small mouse.
