I found the old letter in the drawer by accident. The envelope was thick, sealed tightly, and my name was written in a careful hand.

It was from Alex, someone I had met years ago at a music festival. We shared a few magical days, talking until dawn and laughing over simple things.

The letter told stories of hope, dreams, and a wish to meet again. But it was never sent.

Reading the words felt like opening a door to a time frozen in my mind. Alex wrote about a future together, plans that never got real, and feelings left unspoken. The letter ended with a question: "Do you think we could try once more?"

I stared at the last line for long minutes. My heart mixed hope and doubt. Life had taken us different ways; would it be wise to revisit what was?

The quiet room around me seemed full of answers I could not reach. I did not send a reply.

Sometimes, silence holds more weight than words. The letter stayed where I found it, a secret housed between moments that touched me but belonged to the past.

Love, I realized, is not always about holding on. Sometimes, it is the gentle act of letting go, leaving memories as they are, unfinished and beautiful in their own way.
