Yesterday morning, our history teacher, Mr. Clark, asked us to bring our projects to class. I was excited because I had worked hard on mine about ancient Egypt.
When I got to school, I looked in my bag. The project was not there! I searched everywhere—my desk, locker, and even under my bed before I left.
I felt really nervous. What could I say to Mr. Clark? I thought about calling my parents or asking friends if they had seen it, but I decided to check one more place—the school library.
At the library, I met Mrs. Green, the librarian. She smiled and said, "I found this on the floor near the history books yesterday." It was my project!
Relieved, I thanked her and rushed back to class. Mr. Clark was understanding but reminded us to be careful and organized.
Later, I thought about how easy it was to lose things when we are busy or forget. It made me plan to make a special folder just for school work at home and another one in my bag, so nothing goes missing again.
Even though I was scared for a little while, the day taught me about being calm and asking for help when problems come up.
I still enjoy learning about history, but now I am also learning how to take better care of my things.
