Luke woke up early that Saturday with a big smile. It was his birthday, but he did not plan to celebrate this year.
He thought about working on his small garden instead. Luke loved flowers more than big parties.
While planting new seeds, Luke heard a loud noise outside. He looked up and saw many children singing near his fence. They had balloons and colorful paper.
"Surprise!" they shouted. Luke felt confused but happy. The children had made a small party for him without anyone telling him.
They sang songs and gave him a handmade card. Luke laughed softly and thanked them.
After the singing, a little boy asked, "Luke, will you stay for some cake?"
Luke looked at his simple garden and then at the happy faces. He nodded and went inside to get some cake.
Sitting with new friends, Luke felt warm and calm. The party was quiet but full of joy.
At the end, Luke realized that sometimes unexpected moments bring the best happiness. He did not need a big celebration to feel special.
That day, his garden and the children's smiles were the best gift he could ask for.
